"Their performance is full of excitement, expressivity, passion and commitment.
I am really delighted that this duo is playing my sonata and playing like that! "

- Samuel Zyman, Composer and Professor at the Juilliard School

Pianist Akiko Sasaki and Cellist Erich Schoen-Rene first played together in a piano quintet six years ago. Recognizing a shared interest in repertoire for cello and piano of the twentieth and twenty-first century, they formed a duo dedicated to the performance of these works. Together, they have been invited to perform at diverse venues in New York, such as Yamaha Hall, Tenri Cultural Institute, and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. They have also performed together in Switzerland and appeared as faculty and performers in the Goppisberger Music Festival.   The duo is currently working on a recording project.
