Welcome to Forte>Piano Studio! We provide professional piano instruction to students of all abilities. Our home studio is located in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn NY near the Beverley Road Q subway station.
The goals for Forte>Piano Studio are for each student to develop solid piano, music theory and ear-training skills, and most importantly acquire a life-lasting love, respect and understanding of music. We offer lessons in classical, jazz, blues, and rock styles, as well as music composition and theory. All levels and abilities are accepted, however we suggest beginners are age five and older. Lesson activities, which are tailored to age and ability, include:

>music theory
>ear training
>sight-reading
>memorization
>improvisation
NEWS:
>This past July, I, Akiko spent two weeks in Randolph, Vermont, co-directing the Lyra Summer Music Workshop. In the two week intensive program, students had daily lessons, supervised practicing, chamber coachings, rehearsals, a lot of performing experiences, music classes, and a lot of fun activities. I am so proud of my students that participated and was amazed by the progress I saw. I look forward to Lyra 2011 and hope that more of my students will participate! Photos and viedo's from Lyra 2010 will be posted soon!
July 17-August 6, 2011 are the dates for Lyra Summer Music Workshop 2011. Mark it in your calendar! Registration will open in November.
